The SMD600 Plus is for sites where very small metal objects must be found reliably: law enforcement, correctional facilities screening visitors and inmates, courts and critical infrastructure. NIJ-0601.02 requires detection down to items such as a handcuff key, and the SMD600 Plus meets it while keeping throughput high. It is also the base for the SMD600 Plus-MI2 cell-phone configuration.
Choose the SMD600 Plus when NIJ-0601.02 compliance or small-object detection is required. Choose the HI-PE Plus for public screening that benefits from 60-zone left, centre and right localisation.
Can it be upgraded later?
Yes. It can take the MI2 sensor for cell-phone detection, the TDU thermal module or the APSiM3 Plus web server and logger.
Does it screen inmates as well as visitors?
Yes. It meets NIJ-0601.02 at all security levels, so it can be used from visitor inspection to top-security inmate checkpoints.
How fast is it?
Reset time is as short as 0.2 seconds and detection speed up to 15 m/s.
