CEIA PD140N or PD240: which hand-held detector fits your checkpoint?
AFB Insights · CEIA buyer guides
Both are calibration-free CEIA hand-held detectors that meet NIJ 0602.02 and run for days on a charge. The PD240 has a wider search area and works close to reinforced-concrete floors; the PD140N is smaller and lighter.
Choose the PD240 when
- ✓the checkpoint screens large numbers of people and every scan counts
- ✓floors are reinforced concrete and legs and shoes must be screened properly
- ✓operators work long shifts at events, stadiums or border crossings
Choose the PD140N when
- ✓the detector is carried all day and size and weight matter most
- ✓screening is routine access control at offices, courts or embassies
- ✓you want the lightest unit per operator
